Optimum material for high heat resistance
Molybdenum and tungsten are refractory metals and thus are very heat-resistant. Due to their special physical properties, molybdenum and tungsten are ideally suited as components for furnace construction.
When particular loads are required, we strengthen the microstructure of pure molybdenum with TZM – titanium and zirconium. TZM has better creep resistance, a higher recrystallization temperature, and higher heat resistance than pure molybdenum. A Mo-Ti solid solution and Ti-Zr carbides ensure optimal strengths at temperatures up to 1400°C.
